New Book, Podcast Coming Soon

I’m happy to announce that my new book, Gluten Free Throughout the Year, will be available in May if not before. (That’s a big reason why Nutrition News & Notes has been so quiet for a while!)

To be one of the first people to get a copy, keep checking back on this blog, especially toward the end of April and beginning of May. I’ll let you know exactly when the book becomes available, a lot more about its content, and how you can order it, and I’ll list some other sites that I plan to “visit” to spread the word, too. So, stay tuned. (I’ll also be sending an announcement to those of you on my mailing list. But that won’t be sent out quite as early as my blog post will be posted.)

Also, Jimmy Moore of The Livin’ La Vida Low Carb Show interviewed me a while back, and a free podcast of that interview will be available on his site on April 29. Jimmy has an amazing story of having lost 170 pounds on a grain-free, sugar-free, low-carb diet and he is enthusiastic like I am about spreading the word about the therapeutic value of that type of diet.

Here’s what he said on his Facebook page the day he interviewed me:

Jimmy Moore’s Livin’ La Vida Low Carb interviewed Melissa Diane Smith, author of Going Against the Grain, today and she was sensational sharing about all the health ailments that occur from consuming not just refined grains, but even the so-called “healthy” whole grains.

He also named my Going Against the Grain book to his list of the Top Ten Low-Carb Health Books to Start 2010. If you’d like to hear the interview he did with me, mark your calendar for April 29 to remind yourself to go to his site for the podcast.
