“Unhealthy & Unsustainable”
Presentation on GMOs Oct. 15
More and more people are gradually learning the hard truths about genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and taking action to avoid them, making the non-GMO movement a very fast-growing movement. The Non-GMO Project Verified label now is the fastest-growing label claim in the natural foods arena.
However, there have been so many myths perpetuated about GMOs that even some people who feel strongly about having a sustainable food system have missed some basics about GMOs and why GMOs aren’t good for us or our planet. On Tuesday, October 15, at 7:30 p.m., at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, 3809 E. 2nd Street, in Tucson, I will explain the many compelling reasons why growing numbers of people are shopping and eating non-GMO in “Unhealthy and Unsustainable: Why Growing Numbers of People are Saying No to Genetically Modified Foods.” Tips on how you can be a savvy non-GMO consumer will also be included. My presentation will be from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., followed by a Q&A session.
This presentation, which will be for the Tucson Organic Gardeners (TOG) monthly group meeting, is free and open to the public. To reach the parking lot for the church, turn west on 2nd Street from Alvernon, then travel a block. You can also view a map to the location at the bottom of this TOG page.
