Catch the GMO Trilogy Movie Series
at Natural Grocers This Summer
Going Against GMOs author and holistic nutritionist Melissa Diane Smith and Natural Grocers Nutritional Health Coach Kariman Pierce are teaming up to present the GMO Trilogy Movie Series this summer at Natural Grocers, 5600 E. River Road, in Tucson. The series of short films will run from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. every other Saturday starting on July 29, 2017.
Each movie will include a post-film Q&A, information on local action taking place, and tips on how you can avoid Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) in food. 100% Organic, Non-GMO snacks will be served, and copies of Going Against GMOs will be available for purchase.
Beat the heat and educate yourself about the pressing health and environmental issues connected to GMOs in our food supply. The movies in the documentary series are:
Saturday, July 29th, at 10 a.m. – “Unnatural Selection” (60 minutes)
This film goes in depth about how GM crops are bankrupting farmers worldwide. Scientists share alarming evidence of the how GM seed has the potential to not only fail to feed us but may lead to serious threats to our health. (See Facebook event page.)
Saturday, August 12th, at 10 a.m. – “Hidden Dangers in Kids’ Meals” (28 minutes)
This short film explains why GM foods are dangerous and should be removed from adult and kids’ meals alike – and why growing children may be the most vulnerable to their effects. (See Facebook event page.)
Saturday, August 26th, at 10 a.m. “Deconstructing Supper” (48 minutes)
This film follows the journey of an acclaimed chef who learns about GMOs, the huge change in modern food production, its effects on our lives, and the importance of growing food organically. (See Facebook event page.) (View movie trailer.)
